The spectacled bear is the only bear native to South America, he inhabits in the Andes. When standing in their back legs, they could reach up to 220 cm in length and they weight up to 175 kilos. Spectacled bears have unique black patches around their eyes, that is why they have that name. According to the IUCN Red List, they are classified as Vulnerable because of habitat loss. They are vital for our planet as they play an important role in seed dispersion and conservation of the moorland.
